This conference will be held in the context of Safer Internet Day celebrations in Cyprus, with the motto "Together for a better internet". The aim of the conference is to cultivate responsibility, respect, but also the need for critical and creative use of the internet in our lives. Moreover it will be a reminder of everyone’s responsibility – the state, teachers and educators, decision-makers, parents and careers, young people themselves – to make the internet a better and safer place for communication, entertainment and learning.

Among others, during the conference four members of the CYberSafety Youth Panel, together with the Speaker of the Parliament of Cyprus, Mrs. Annita Dimitriou, the Citizen's Commissioner, and Mr Panagiotis Sentonas, and child members will participate in a round table discussion. During the discussion, the students will be able to raise concerns and questions about how Europe's Digital Decade could be shaped by children and young people. In particular, the students will cite issues that had been highlighted in the recent European Commission #DigitalDecade4YOUth consultation, from national statistics from the 1480 Helpline and Hotline services, as well as from their own personal experiences. They will also share their concerns about how to ensure that the State promotes, protects, respects, and fulfills the rights of all children and young people on the internet.
