The 8th edition of the European Week of Sport (#BeActive) seeks to further develop and maintain a national platform of sporting and physical activities mainly focus to the support of the physical and sport sector emphasizing to the post-pandemic recovery and resilience, to raise awareness and promote the benefits of sport and physical activity, healthy eating and healthy lifestyle by utilizing and allocating all available means and resources. The 2022 edition anticipates the organization of new local and national initiatives; the promotion of existing activities and programmes that will give new opportunities to the population to be informed about various physical activity opportunities. The 2022 campaign will be focused to events related to the participation of young people in sport and physical activities as well as to the promotion of the HealthyLifeStyle4All initiative. Free of charge and accessible events will mobilise citizens to get physically active. Overall, the european campaign is aiming to have a long-term impact in raising awareness on the value of sport and physical activity, active participation and wellbeing on local, national and EU level and to initiate and develop new structures, methods and tools to support the implementation of the EU and national policies in the field of sport and health.
